Corded chainsaws occupy a narrow band of usefulness, and the CS1500 sits right in the middle of it. Within 30 m of a socket, cutting softwood or seasoned hardwood under 250 mm, it needs nothing beyond plugging it in, and it runs quieter than a petrol saw.

Chain tensioning is the standout feature on paper. A tool-free wheel means adjusting tension without a spanner, which matters on a saw most owners use only a few times a year.

The limits arrive fast in green hardwood. A corded saw of this power is built for softwood and seasoned logs, and thick green hardwood asks more of the motor than it is designed to give.

Build quality is where the price shows. The body is plastic, so a pinched bar puts stress on the housing. Treat it as an occasional homeowner saw rather than a professional one.
